Attention Sellers: Complete a Website Review to accept credit card payments

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update from the AlertPay team! If you want to sell anything online, whether through a website or through email invoicing, you must complete a website/business review to accept credit card payments.

Worry not - this is an extremely simple and fast process. And while your website or business is being reviewed, you can still accept instant AlertPay balance payments until a decision has been rendered.

If you do not have a website, you will be asked to complete a brief questionnaire and send it to us. After the website/business review, members may be able to accept credit card payments or not depending on a decision rendered by AlertPay.

Those of you who must complete a website/business review will be notified when you sign up for an AlertPay Personal Pro or Business account for the first time, when you login to your AlertPay account or when you try to add a payment button/link to your website/email.

Please note that this does not apply to Personal Starter account holders.

That's it, that's all! If you need assistance, please contact us.

**This change will become effective tomorrow.

Thank you for your understanding. Attention Sellers: Complete a Website Review to accept credit card payments

  1. Is this the beginning of alertpay becoming another paypal networkers enemy? We shall see, I guess.

  3. Gialong, it's your choice to complete the seller review. You will still be able receive payments from other AlertPay members without restrictions. You will not be able to take credit card payments from non-members from the checkout page (Buy Now buttons... etc).

This process is for a few reasons
    1) Building a proper merchant directory
    2) Getting to know our merchants better to better assist them. We have a business development team reaching out to new businesses.
    3) Ensuring that certain business industries are not in violation of credit card processing agreements.
    4) Build a sense of trust with Sellers with our upcoming Reputation Center. Buyers will feel more secure shopping with reviewed sellers.

  4. I find it kinda re-assuring that Alertpay are taking steps to build up a sense of involvment with the mechants that have accounts with alertpay.

I for one would be happier knowing that all my policies are up to date and by being accepted to accept CC payments on my website only proves I am doing things by the book which will give my buyers a better sense of security when shopping on my websites.

The only thing so far that will bother me is I have to repeat the process for every website I have.

Could be at it for a while lol

  5. what if the members balance is below the selling price ? Must they add money to their account, or will it be transferred automatically from their funding source ?

  6. Hi,

I apologize for the delay in responding - I missed this one!

If a member's balance is below the selling price, then they will have to add more funds to their account. Luckily, they can add funds by bank transfer, bank wire, certified check or money order. Members can also make a payment through our "Send Money" feature by credit card if they are unable to make a payment through a website.

    Thanks for your question.

  7. Hi, I'm planning to setup Alertpay integration for my website. I would like to know if it is possible to receive credit card payments from non-member users without making them registering.

    Thank you.

  8. Hi Rikyt,

Once you get your account verified and complete a website review for your online business, you can accept credit card payments from non-members. They will have to enter some information to make their payment, especially if they are using a credit card, but they do not technically have to register for an AlertPay account.

The way it works is that they go to your site, click on the payment button, enter their credit card number and other required details (which we keep 100% secure and confidential) and pay. That's it!

After their payment, they will receive an email from us asking them to validate their email address and complete the registration process if they choose.

We always recommend that people complete registration so that they can continue to shop securely online with us. And why not? It's free to register and make payments!

    Hope this answers your question!
