Phone Validation Update

Since we released the phone validation process last week, we have received some interesting feedback from a lot of AlertPay members. As an attempt to make this new process just a little bit more convenient for you, all AlertPay sellers now have the ability to disable the phone validation option.

How to do this:

1) Login to your AlertPay account.
2) Click on "Profile".
3) Under "Financial", click on "Payment Preferences" and make the necessary selection.

Please note that the success rate for phone validation has been a remarkable 97%. This feature is a value-added service to help protect against fraudulent orders and potential chargebacks — which can be very injurious to your business.

A great many of our sellers have shown appreciation for this service which helps protect their business.

Even though you have the option of disabling phone validation, we highly recommend that you take advantage of this effective fraud detection tool.

  1. I think this phone validation process by AlertPay is simply amazing. I am tired of fraud credit card payments online. This gives me another reason to move all my processing over to AlertPay.

    Great work AP

  2. What about for those who don't have telephone or cellphone (out of USA,CAN,EU)? OR those who can't speak (ie: deaf)?

  3. Hi Dave,

You raise some excellent points. If you do not reside in Canada or the US and your card was not issued in either of those countries, you do not need to do phone validation.

Phone validation only works with mobile phones and land lines, so anyone who has to do it and does not have one of the above, then the transaction will not complete.

We are currently working on a solution for our members with hearing impairments. We are trying out different things to see what works the best. More updates to come!

Please note that if you do have a hearing impairment or cannot complete phone validation for whatever reason, you can always credit your AlertPay account by certified check/money order, bank wire or bank transfer. Please check here for more information on our convenient depositing methods: https://www.alertpay.com/info/Deposit.aspx

    Thank you for your feedback!

  5. Hi,

And you don't even have to worry about enabling this credit card feature - phone validation is enabled by default in your AlertPay account. Once your website is integrated with our payment solution, you can accept credit card payments without the risk of fraud.

    Thank you for your feedback!
