On June 14 - 17, a handful of AlertPay representatives will be attending yet another conference in San Diego: the Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition (IRCE). At the conference, there will be over 7000 attendees, 175 speakers (including Arianna Huffington of The Huffington Post and Christopher Payne of eBay Inc.) and 500 exhibitors representing 75 technology market segments.
This conference caters to anyone in or around the e-commerce/e-retail industry. If you sell products/services online, this is the place to network and stay up-to-date in exciting industry trends and developments. There will be three main focuses at this year's event:
- Advances in technologies, such as smartphones, iPads and Web TV, and how they relate to e-commerce.
- Social media and its role in marketing.
- The proliferation of new competition: e-commerce is not just for online merchants anymore since big brand stores are also online.
Who attends the IRCE?
Anyone can go to this event, but it's designed with retail, catalog, manufacturing and consumer services in mind. The top 500 e-retailers attend as well as hundreds of other smaller players in the industry. Take a look at the companies who will be in attendance at the 2011 IRCE.
For anyone out there attending, please visit the AlertPay kiosk (booth 1040) close to the food and beverage area. Our reps will be more than happy to get to know you and discuss what we can do to meet your needs. We're looking forward to meeting lots of interesting people!
How do you find your way around this insanely huge conference/exhibition?
That's easy as pie! Since this is the biggest conference of its kind in the industry, attendees can navigate through the exhibition hall with ease thanks to six strategically-placed interactive map and exhibitor directories. They are equipped with large touch-sensitive screens that tell you where you have to go to find the company you're looking for. You can try out the software on the IRCE website before going to see how it works since it will be really busy!
Where's the party at?
These conferences are not just about networking and sharing knowledge, they're also about cutting loose and having a little fun. At the 2011 IRCE, attendees will enjoy the FREE Networking Block Party in San Diego's picturesque Gaslamp Quarter, just a hop, skip and a jump away from the conference center.
The party will feature delicious food from local restaurants, beer, wine, and live music courtesy of L.A. AllStars so attendees can groove and shmooze to the tune of classic rock, swing, jazz and pop music.
Are you excited yet? We are! Attending these conferences gives us a chance to share our know-how with potential partners, suppliers and customers and let the e-commerce world know that we take our industry seriously and work hard to stay on the cutting edge of the latest developments in the field of online retail.
