Secure Online Transactions | Ways to Avoid Hacking Attempts

Secure Online Transactions | Ways to Avoid Hacking Attempts AlertPay Hack PreventionAt AlertPay, we are dedicated to keeping your account safe: our fraud prevention department works around the clock to ensure the security of your transactions. But, you, the member, also play an active role in ensuring the safety of your funds and protecting your account from potential hacks.

Role of Alertpay's fraud prevention team

AlertPay has a stringent KYC (Know Your Customer) policy to ensure the security of our members’ accounts and our network. When a new account is created, the new member must pass through a verification process to validate the banking and credit card information they entered.

Once personal information is validated and members begin to perform transactions, all information must pass through our 128-bit SSL Encryption system. Our sophisticated encryption system scrambles personal information as it travels through cyberspace, so members’ sensitive data cannot be intercepted and misused.

The AlertPay fraud prevention team works tirelessly to identify and assess external security threats to our system and ensure members’ accounts are not compromised by attempts at hacking our system.

Your role in a more secure transaction

Make sure your internet connection is secure

Accessing the web through a secure internet connection is essential to prevent personal data from being intercepted. To make sure you are browsing safely, only log in into your AlertPay account from machines you trust. Also, always check to make sure the URL displayed in your browser’s address bar is correct.

Keep your software up to date

For all computer users, performing regular software updates by downloading the latest patches is essential to maintain security. Like old clothing, which wears thin over time and may require a patch, software programs develop holes that can expose your information to malware and hacking attempts. Software providers vigilantly identify weak points in their programs and provide users with patches to enhance security.

Always log out of your account

Make sure to log out of your account to avoid allowing other users to access your personal information. If you are using a public computer it is essential to log out before you close your browser window. To do so, click the ‘Logout’ button on the top right corner of your logged-in AlertPay screen.

  1. Online shopping provides convenience but if we are too naive, we may share more personal information than we need to. Thank you for sharing such helpful tips regarding online safety. The same goes with our papers that require shredding Austin documents for the protection of our information. Hopefully, more people will become responsible in keeping their information private to avoid getting victimized by fraud.
